safe excavation awareness course
An awareness course covering the basic aspects of safe excavation and in-fill, including the following range of elements:-
- Planning and preparation for excavation.
- Avoidance of damage to existing services/ structures in or near an excavation.
- Excavation general safety.
- Excavation side support awareness.
- Access, monitoring and maintenance of excavations.
- Safety of excavation in-fill.
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for operatives having some prior experience of hand and mechanical exaction techniques. It will be classroom based and involve completion of a written test covering the above elements. Test answers will be reviewed during the training session.
Subject to assessment during the session by the trainer and completion of the written test to a standard which demonstrates that the student has a sound knowledge of and safe working attitude to the subject, an internal certificate of attendance may be issued.
